As the rain came pouring down Monday night, Major League Baseball realized they had themselves quite the pickle. And this was not the kind of call they could blow like Evan Longoria touching Jimmy Rollins on the backside. This is of a much larger proportion. The "let's call the All-Star Game a tie" proportion. But bigger. When and how are they going to make up this game? The forecast for tonight includes snow flurries and that's certainly not baseball weather either.
But the question is really "was this the best move by baseball?" Bud Selig said he would never want a World Series game to end before 9 innings. And for that matter, I agree. But the way baseball went about it was kind of questionable. What if Tampa hadn't have tied the game? What if Tampa had taken the lead? Would baseball have continued the game?
