Don't get me wrong, it was a very nice story. I was caught up in the mystique just like everyone else with a television and a desire to pay attention to the NBA for the first time in 15 years. But the dream is over. It is impossible for Jeremy Lin to live up to the expectations that fans have created for him. While he may be a serviceable starter for a couple more years and still have a very strong following, he's not the second coming of Pistol Pete or Stockton or even Steve Nash. Who?! He plays in Lebanon. He had been averaging 7.6 points/game this season. And then on Tuesday, HE SCORED 113 POINTS. That's right, 113 points. HE MADE 32 3-POINTERS! Forget Jeremy Lin, these are Kim Jong-il type stats. CAN WE PLEASE GET THIS GUY ON A PLANE TO AMERICA?! Don't even try to tell me he couldn't start for the Bobcats in their next game.
